GTA 5 Star Steven Ogg Feels "Nothing Inside" for GTA 6 Hype

Steven Ogg, the actor behind Trevor, revealed that he has no interest in GTA 6 and admitted he never played GTA 5.

Millions of fans are eagerly awaiting Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), hyped for its promised immersive world and new protagonist, Lucia. Yet, Steven Ogg, the actor behind Grand Theft Auto V’s iconic Trevor Philips, remains unmoved. In a recent convention interview with Harrison (Harrryboyy on X), Ogg bluntly stated, "I feel nothing inside," when asked about his excitement for the upcoming sequel.

Ogg, renowned for his unforgettable portrayal of the volatile and charismatic Trevor in GTA V, has long been open about his disinterest in video games. Despite his performance cementing Trevor as one of the most memorable characters in the franchise, Ogg has never played the game that skyrocketed his fame among gamers. During the interview, he reiterated his stance, stating, "I’m not a gamer." He went on to share an anecdote about a fan who encouraged him to play GTA V, praising its quality. Ogg’s response was characteristically blunt: he suggested the fan read Fyodor Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment for the same reason, adding, "Books are my thing." This quip, delivered with his signature dry wit, underscored his preference for literature over gaming.

The comment sparked a range of reactions on social media, with some fans amused by Ogg’s candidness and others frustrated by his detachment from the gaming world they so strongly associate him with. Ogg’s lack of enthusiasm for GTA 6 doesn’t stem from disdain for his role or the franchise, however. He has previously described Trevor as an "awesome" character, dispelling rumors that he resents the fame the role brought him. Instead, his indifference reflects a personal disconnect from gaming culture, even as he continues to engage with fans at conventions and events.

Earlier in 2025, Ogg playfully suggested a cameo for Trevor in Grand Theft Auto VI—only to have the character killed off immediately. The tongue-in-cheek proposal highlights his willingness to embrace his legacy as Trevor while maintaining a lighthearted distance from the gaming world. For Ogg, the Grand Theft Auto franchise is a professional milestone, not a personal passion, and his focus remains on other creative pursuits, particularly his love for books.

As the gaming community counts down to the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, Ogg’s comments serve as a reminder of the diverse perspectives within the industry. While fans eagerly await the chance to explore the next chapter of Rockstar Games’ iconic series, Ogg remains content to stay on the sidelines, his heart firmly rooted in the pages of literature rather than the virtual streets of Vice City.
