Santa Monica Studio has announced pre-order details and a Digital Deluxe Edition for God of War Laufey. The studio also shared new combat information for Faye, including a ranged weapon that can be mixed into close-quarters strings. The update outlines how her toolkit works in the Everywhen and what buyers receive when reservations begin.
God of War Laufey follows Faye, the wife of Kratos, as she fights to survive and free the Everywhen after her death at the start of God of War (2018). Alongside her sword, she now wields the Serpent’s Bow, a mythic ranged arm that lets her hold enemies at a distance while staying mobile. The bow is fast enough that shots can slip into melee sequences, and brief footage shows her knocking foes into the air, loosing a few arrows, then returning to her blade work without breaking stride.
Holding the fire input charges precise shots that strike weak points and can blunt an enemy’s movement or offense. A full charge also lets Faye nock and fire as many as five arrows in a single burst. She carries several arrow varieties, among them rapid-fire, explosive, and multi-target types, and the Serpent Bow can be altered with scales that change both how it looks and how it performs.
Pre-orders open tomorrow, September 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Several bonuses are marked with the note “Unlock in-game items via story progression.” Standard and Digital Deluxe copies share the same reservation extras, while the Digital Deluxe Edition adds further gear, a mini artbook, and the official soundtrack.

Santa Monica Studio also addressed the wait between the June reveal and launch. Communications director Grace Orlady wrote on behalf of the team:

God of War Laufey launches exclusively on PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027. Players can reserve the Standard Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition when pre-orders go live, with both versions including the listed reservation bonuses.
