There is little doubt that the latest episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has been an exciting one for fans. However, it looks like Gege Akutami is just as excited as the anime viewers. The mangaka shared his thoughts on the second season's Episode 7 and as expected, he couldn't get enough of Mahito's upgrade in Studio MAPPA's adaptation of the manga.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 7, Kokichi Muta used a year's worth of Cursed Energy to incapacitate Mahito. Although it looked like the Cursed Spirit was losing to the sorcerer, Mahito kept transforming to keep up with Muta's moves. Just when Muta thought he had the upper hand, Mahito manages to fight back and ultimately destroy the sorcerer.

It's a destructive yet impressive action sequence and yes, even Gege Akutami couldn't help but gush about the scene. In a hand-written message posted by the Jujutsu Kaisen X (formerly Twitter) account, Akutami raved about MAPPA's changes to Mahito's transformations.

"It was a blast seeing Mahito running around and transforming into so many different animals!!! I should have come up with this in the manga .... it's so cool!!!" the mangaka wrote.

We're totally with Akutami-sensei on this one, the scene played out amazingly and it certainly made the fight more interesting. And this was just the pre-game fight for the Shibuya Incident arc! With that in mind, we can't wait to see what MAPPA will do with the major fights in the upcoming episodes.

Who is Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Mahito is an unregistered special grade Cursed Spirit who has allied himself with Suguru Geto. His own group of Cursed Spirits include Jogo and Hanami and their ultimate goal is the eradication of humanity. Mahito wants to replace the population with Cursed Spirits and believes Geto and Ryomen Sukuna can help him with his goal.

Although Mahito has already proven to be a dangerous figure in the first season, he is set to play a major role yet again in Season 2. With that in mind, we can't wait to see what's in store when the Shibuya Incident arc finally comes into play.
