After the end of the second stage of the First Class Mage Exam, Serie decides to screen the remaining examinees to avoid seeing a number of mages die in the battleground after Frieren helps them all to survive. As Frieren expected, the elven mage will not let her pass, but she manages to convince her to accept Fern, as the latter will surpass her expectations. As Fern passes, with Serie wanting to put her under her wings and be her apprentice, the preview for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Episode 28 (finale), titled It Would Be Embarrassing When We Met Again, features the mages’ last goodbye.
The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Episode 28 preview starts with Ubel standing proud as her gaze is fixed on Serie’s back. It’s followed by Stark and Fern together, and by the looks of it, they’re continuously talking about the First Class Mage Exam after her staff gets broken. Wirbel and Frieren also reunite, and despite everything they have been through during the exams, the former gives the Hero Party’s mage a sweet smile.
In addition, a solo still of Frieren is revealed, showing her full, majestic glory as she seems to bid her final farewell. It has been known that Frieren fails the third stage of the exam after Serie feels that she can’t “visualize” herself as a first-class mage. For the final still, Lawine and Kanne stopped by to meet Frieren. As this will be the last time they will be seen together, they may take a moment to thank Frieren and say their goodbyes.
