The second stage of the First Class Mage Exam has officially begun, and the mages have gone their way to the dungeon to see who will successfully make it to the end despite the dangers. However, little did they know that they would face a bigger enemy—themselves. The preview for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Episode 24, titled Perfect Replicas, has revealed the mages' own clones, starting with a replica of Frieren.

The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Episode 24 trailer starts with Denken’s group beginning the fight. Later, Ubel battles an image of herself, copying her exact moves. Frieren, Fern, and the mysterious proctor Sense are seen together as they go deeper into the dungeon. The preview also shows Wirbel’s intense battle against Frieren’s clone. Edel joins forces with two other mages to make a much stronger attack against the enemy. As the trailer ends, Methode hugs Frieren and tells her something while the latter’s replica appears.
Alternatively, the new episode’s still shows Land hurt with a bloody cut in his chest while being looked after by Ubel. Fern seemingly holds Frieren still while Methode is in front of them. Edel then wields her power as she seems to start her attack with her allies beside her. Wirbel, Scharf, and Ehre also fight as a group, holding their weapons while the former unleashes his ability. For the last still, Frieren’s clone appears with a great power before her.

These clones possess the same abilities, magic, and moves they have, making the fight harder than they thought.

When examinees enter the dungeon ‘Tomb of Fallen King’ for the second exam, their duplicates stand in their way. The duplicates were entities that completely copied their respective abilities, magic, and technology through magic. In the process, Yubel and his friends encounter copies of themselves. Meanwhile, Denken and his friends are stuck in front of Freelen's clone...
The anime is based on the manga of the same title, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. It started its serialization in April 2020, has collected 12 tankobon volumes, and has over 17 million copies in circulation as of December 2023. Viz Media has licensed the series in English in North America.
It was then adapted into anime by Madhouse, premiering in September 2023 and releasing 23 episodes so far. It’s licensed and distributed in North America, Europe, and Australia by Crunchyroll and Muse Communication in Southeast Asia. It also streams on Netflix in select regions.
