Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has a new trailer, and it gives so much away about the series, from Frieren’s former and new party members to the several intense battles fans are about to see. The clip also reveals the anime’s opening and ending theme songs, making the preview as epic as it could get.

Based on the Japanese manga series of the same title, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukase Abe, this story began its serialization in April 2020. As of March 2023, it has collected ten tankōbon volumes and circulated over 8 million copies. Come 2021, its anime adaptation by Madhouse was announced and would soon be released.

The anime’s official website has dropped the new trailer for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, along with some major details. The clip features the new party members Frieren will have, Fern and Stark, after the death of her original party member, Himmel, with whom she defeated the Demon King.

It also proves Frieren’s eternal youth after featuring a flashback scene where she meets a young Fern. Of course, the preview will never be complete without the intense fights against the demons and monsters Frieren and her friends encounter. And what makes it more outstanding is the high-quality animation.

What is Frieren: Beyond Journey's End about?

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End follows the story of Frieren, a former member of a group of adventurers who defeated the Demon King. She used to work with Himmel, Eisen, and Heither, but they parted ways after watching a meteorite that only occurred in 50 years.

After going on a journey to learn more about magic, she returns to the capital only to see her former companions have distinctly aged while she has remained young. Himmel eventually dies, and after visiting former comrades, she agrees to care for Fern, whom Heiter adopts. From there, the two start a magical journey.

You can read the synopsis below:

Along with the hero Himmel and his friends, the wizard Freelen defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the world after a 10-year adventure. She is an elf who has lived for more than a thousand years. She promises to meet Himmel and others again and sets out on a journey alone. Fifty years later, Freelen visits Himmel, but while she is still the same as she was fifty years ago, Himmel is old and her life is numbered. Afterwards, she witnesses Himmel's death, and she becomes acutely aware of the fact that she has not done anything to "get to know people.”
