As Fortnite players gear up for the intense battles of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2: Showdown, Epic Games is preparing to deliver one of the most ambitious creative expansions in the game’s history. Starting Thursday, March 19, creators will gain access to an official suite of Star Wars assets within Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), empowering them to build, test, and publish their own fully integrated Star Wars-inspired experiences directly on the Fortnite platform.
The new toolkit includes a wide range of authentic Star Wars elements—characters, vehicles, weapons, environments, props, sound effects, and more—designed specifically for seamless use in UEFN. This means creators can craft everything from sprawling planetary battle arenas and lightsaber dueling maps to narrative-driven missions, space combat scenarios, and entirely original stories set within the galaxy far, far away. Once published, these user-generated experiences become discoverable and playable by the entire Fortnite community across all platforms, just like official modes and events.

By providing these official assets, Epic eliminates the guesswork and technical barriers that previously limited Star Wars-themed creations. Creators no longer need to rely on makeshift approximations or community workarounds; instead, they can use high-fidelity, canon-compliant materials that align with Fortnite’s performance and visual standards. The result is expected to be a flood of high-quality, innovative content that blends the fast-paced, building-heavy gameplay of Fortnite with the rich lore, iconic designs, and epic scale of the Star Wars universe.
This rollout builds on Fortnite’s evolution from a battle royale title into a robust creative ecosystem powered by Unreal Engine technology. UEFN already allows developers and hobbyists alike to produce sophisticated experiences, and the addition of Star Wars assets significantly broadens the creative palette. Players could soon see recreations of classic moments—such as the Battle of Hoth or the trench run in the Death Star—or completely new concepts like Jedi training academies, bounty hunter showdowns, or multiplayer campaigns exploring uncharted corners of the galaxy.
The move underscores Epic Games’ long-term vision of turning Fortnite into a permanent home for major entertainment franchises through community-driven content. Previous limited-time collaborations have brought Star Wars characters and locations into the game, but this marks the first time players receive sustained, official tools to keep generating Star Wars experiences indefinitely.
The initiative is deeply tied to Epic’s growing partnership with Disney. In 2024, Disney made a strategic $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games, solidifying their collaboration across gaming and entertainment. Last year, Disney Parks content arrived in Fortnite, further bridging the physical and digital worlds. Sean Shoptaw, Executive Vice President of Disney Games and Digital Entertainment, recently emphasized that Fortnite’s storytelling capabilities represent a powerful channel for engaging younger audiences through interactive, player-created narratives that feel personal and immersive.
With the March 19 launch approaching, the Fortnite and Star Wars communities stand on the brink of a new era of creativity. The official creator tools promise to transform how fans experience and contribute to both franchises, turning millions of players into potential storytellers within one of the most expansive shared universes in entertainment.
