On the third and final day of Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025, Epic Games revealed the highly-anticipated Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, titled Galactic Battle. Set to launch on May 2, 2025, the upcoming season promises to be the most ambitious crossover yet between Fortnite and the iconic Star Wars franchise. With a 37-day duration, the season is shorter than usual but packed with exciting content, including new characters, themed locations, and gameplay mechanics that will immerse players in a galaxy far, far away.
The reveal trailer, showcased during Star Wars Celebration, featured a trio of legendary Star Wars characters joining the Fortnite Island: Mace Windu, Emperor Palpatine, and the fan-favorite, meme-inspired Darth Jar Jar. The inclusion of Darth Jar Jar, a character born from a long-standing fan theory, stole the spotlight. The trailer’s closing moments depicted the Gungan unleashing Force lightning from his fingertips, cementing his dark-side persona in Fortnite’s universe.
As Epic Games revealed, the new outfits will be available in the new Star Wars-themed battle pass, and it will also include "two that put a Star Wars spin on fan-favorite Fortnite original characters” with Apprentice Evie joining in both a Sith Evie style and Jedi Evie, as well as a Wookiee Team Leader look.
These characters are expected to feature prominently in the season’s Battle Pass, which will include 4-5 skins, according to leaks from trusted sources like ShinnaBR and HYPEX. While the full roster remains under wraps, speculation is rife about additional skins, with names like C-3PO, Qui-Gon Jinn, and General Grievous circulating among fans and leakers. The Battle Pass will likely offer a mix of cosmetics, emotes, and pickaxes, with lightsabers returning as iconic melee weapons.
Epic also shared major hints towards the upcoming season just a few days before fully revealing Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 at Star Wars Celebration. An image was shared on the official X account of Fortnite, which included some Aurebesh that translates to "Galactic Battle", as well as some symbols that hinted the upcoming season's focus on vehicles.
Darth Jar Jar voice actor Ahmed Best also revealed at the event that players will be able to squad-up and ride X-Wings and Tie-Fighters Fortnite.
The new Galactic Battle season in Fortnite will launch on May 2, with Star Wars-themed gameplay released every week through June 7 as summed up below: :
