The most recent Fortnite update has brought the OG Chapter 1 back to the game this week. Not only this, but the update also reintroduced a few parts of Season 6, which was initially released in 2018. This means that players can once again explore the floating Loot Lake POI (famously called “Leaky Lake” during the actual Season 6) while riding in style in the two beloved vehicles.

The latest trailer that was released for this week’s Fortnite update also confirmed the return of the Quadcrasher and the Driftboard. These are two mobility items present in the game that are going to be around in Fortnite for the next week.

Players who aren’t aware of what the game is going to feature this week can get an idea by watching the trailer that Epic Games shared for this week’s Fortnite update. The patch consists of some returning vehicles, weapons, and POIs that players can explore.

Fortnite Reintroduces The Driftboard and The Quadcrasher

Mobility is an integral part of Fortnite, and ever since Chapter 1 Season 6, the developers have greatly expanded this in many shapes and forms. However, the vehicles, the Quadcrasher and the Driftboard are some of the earliest vehicles that Fortnite introduced in the game, with the former being the third vehicle ever to become a part of the battle royale game.

Although Fortnite has worked on different vehicle implementations over the years through items like the All-Terrain Kart and the Shopping Cart, the Quadcrasher was among some of the first vehicles to give gamers more control over their mobility alongside the additional bonus of having some attack features. A driver and a passenger can fit in the vehicle, with the latter having the ability to use healing items and a weapon.

The Quadcrasher also consists of a boost and a heavy front that can easily damage other players and buildings and requires fuel in order to operate. On the other hand, we have the Driftboard, which is technically a hoverboard and is a lot different than the Quadcrasher. Of course, the Driftboard fits just one person, but that player has a lot of control over their actions in Fortnite as compared to someone who can only drive the vehicle while the passenger does most of the heavy lifting.

While piloting a Driftboard, players have the ability to heal, shoot, and perform some other actions while also going from one POI to another. The Driftboard is clearly a beloved vehicle among Fortnite players, which hasn’t returned to the game since 2019, so the fact that it's coming back is quite a huge deal.

What else is new in the latest Fortnite update?

Although Epic Games hasn’t revealed a complete list of changes included in this week’s Fortnite updates, players have already seen the return of these vehicles in the trailer and a lot more. From the trailer above, we can see different weapons, such as the Double Barrel Shotgun, the Shockwave Grenades, and the Mounted Turrets.
