Last month, plenty of Fortnite leaks were going around claiming that the battle royale game would soon introduce another collaboration with My Hero Academia, with the previous one taking place last year. However, these leaks have been officially confirmed by Epic Games, as the developers recently announced that a second collaboration is currently live in the game.
This also means that tons of new cosmetics and skins will be added to Fortnite for Mina Ashido, Shoto Todoroki, and Eijiro Kirishima. The prices of these cosmetics will differ depending on the items you end up buying from the Item Shop. Not only this but a couple of extra cosmetics will also be live in the game for the entire duration of the crossover. A few My Hero Academia abilities have also been introduced, which will be available in both the normal mode as well as the competitive mode for as long as they are present in Fortnite.
Fortnite x My Hero Academia Skins
The My Hero Academia skins that were added to Fortnite as part of the second collaboration are for the anime’s supporting characters Mina Ashido, Shoto Todoroki, and Eijiro Kirishima. Similar to all the other skins that are introduced in the game through collaborations, these skins will also consist of alternate styles that change the characters’ normal looks once equipped.
All of these skins cost 1,500 V-Bucks if purchased on their own, but the skins also have some accessories, such as the Red Riot Thrashers for Eijiro, Cold-Hot Hitters pickaxe for Todoroki, and the Acid Axe for Mina which can be purchased in bundles. These new skins mean that, so far, we have My Hero Academia outfits for Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugo, Eijiro Kirishima, Mina Ashido, Ochaco Uraraka, and All Might.
The recently added skins can seen in action in the trailer below, featuring the new cosmetics along with the new ability that’ll be in Fortnite for the entire course of the event:
Fortnite x My Hero Academia Abilities
Todoroki also received a new ability called the “Ice Wall,” which is available for players to use everywhere except in tournaments. It’s a structure that gamers can call quickly to protect themselves and their squad, causing opponents to slip on the ice. It can be found through the All Might Supply Drops that have returned for the event, the ground, and chests.
Another My Hero Academia ability called Deku’s Smash joins the Ice Wall in the battle royale game. This ability was introduced back in December during the previous collaboration. This weapon is capable of one-shotting opponents regardless of their health if it ends up hitting them directly. However, its downsides leave players pretty vulnerable to counterattacks while it charges.
All of the Fortnite x My Hero Academia content is live now in the game.
