The fan-favorite teenage detective is back! Millie Bobby Brown is set to reprise her role as Enola Eudoria Heddassa Holmes in the upcoming Enola Holmes 3, as the third movie is now in its early development at Netflix.
In an interview with Collider at the grand reopening of the American Cinematheque at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood, the Head of Netflix Film, Scott Stuber, revealed they were excited to continue telling Enola’s story. Talking about the “weirdly elastic” IP of Holmes, he said Warner Bros. did a good job with the 2009 Sherlock Holmes movie featuring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.
That said, the idea that they could extend that IP with Brown got them excited. So, they’re now working “once again on a screenplay to try to get that.” Talking about aspiration, Stuber added he wanted to do another Enola Holmes film.
Stuber also talked about Netflix’s great homegrown star, Brown. He called Stranger Things huge and how they all saw the now-19-year-old star grow as an actress. He, too, revealed he’s excited about her upcoming new movie, Damsel, from the director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, and getting her character right.
