Since Netflix announced Anitta would join the cast of Elite Season 7 in March, the streamer has kept the Brazilian funk queen’s role in secrecy. But after teasing her arrival to Las Encinas in an earlier steamy clip with Ivan, the service has released another new preview, finally revealing the much-awaited role of the singer-songwriter.

Netflix renewed Elite for a seventh season in October 2022, a month before the sixth season’s release in November. After just a year, the show would return with a big bang with a new set of characters, along with Anitta.

In the new Elite Season 7 preview, the 30-year-old was seen preparing for a fight, wearing her boxing clothes and dark gloves. Sara then joins her, and the two share a hug as Anitta starts to teach her to spar. As the clip ends, Anitta kicks the camera, cutting the scene black.

“A new self-defense teacher has arrived to Las Encinas,” Netflix captions the clip of X (formerly Twitter), revealing the actress’ role in Elite Season 7.

What is Elite Season 7 about?

Elite Season 7 will see the return of Omar as he’s about to start a new life at the university. However, he still finds it hard to move on following Samuel’s death, though he’s no longer in Las Encinas. He still feels the weight of Samuel’s demise, making him opt to undergo therapy. But despite everything that has happened and thanks to an internship, he has decided to return to the school. Knowing it all starts here, he’s now ready to face his demons.

The new season will use Omar’s journey to reveal that he isn’t the only one suffering from this silent battle. The show will feature several other students silently facing their own fights. That said, Elite Season 7 will mostly focus on the students’ mental health and how fear and ignorance stop them from asking for help.

You can read the synopsis below:

In this new season, Omar is living a new life at the university and far away from Las Encinas, but he is unable to move on. The guilt he feels for Samuel's death and the suffering from that period are still very much present, leading him to undergo therapy. Thanks to an internship, he decides to return to the school where everything happened to confront his demons face to face. Through Omar's journey, we will discover that the rest of the students are also silently battling their own hells. Elite’s season 7 will tackle mental health and how most of us neglect it out of fear or ignorance.
