The upcoming Dragon Ball DAIMA TV anime series will feature a young Goku and friends heading off on an all-new adventure. Today, the official Dragon Ball website has released a new trailer, main visual, as well as an October 2024 release window. Three new characters have also been revealed, and although Daima is not based on Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama's manga series, he was still involved in bringing the brand new story to life..
The new trailer was released on Toei Animation's YouTube channel, which you can watch below:

The new Dragon Ball anime was officially announced at New York Comic Con 2023 as a new anime series that will be released in celebration of the 40th anniversary. The first trailer revealed that it will feature Goku turning into a kid again, just like what happened to him in the non-canon Dragon Ball GT series, but it's not just Goku being transformed, his old friends will also be turned into their younger selves.
What is Dragon Ball Daima about?
At New York Comic-Con 2023, Toriyama shared a statement about Dragon Ball Daima when the new anime was announced: "I'm currently working on a new Dragon Ball. The title is Dragon Ball Daima. Daima is a made-up term... [which] in English would be something like Evil. Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are turned small. In order to fix things, they'll head off to a new world! It's a grand adventure with intense action in an unknown and mysterious world".
The official synopsis of Dragon Ball Daima revealed earlier this year, reads:
Aya Komaki (ONE PIECE FILM RED assistant director) and Yoshitaka Yashima (Dragon Ball Super storyboard artist, animation director et al.) will be directing Dragon Ball DAIMA for Toei Animation. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru (Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning) will be in charge of adapting Toriyama's designs for animation, and the scripts will be written and supervised by Yuuko Kakihara (Pseudo-Harem).
