Just right after the release of the Dr. Stone: New World (Season 3) finale, the anime received a fourth-season renewal. Episode 22, titled Beyond New World, ended with the official announcement that Dr. Stone Season 4, officially called Dr. Stone: Science Future, will be in the works and serve as the final installment of the series.
The announcement comes with a short teaser featuring a rocket ship that emerges from the Earth and goes to space. This confirmed the assumption that Senku’s story would continue for another season and was already in development.

What to expect from Dr. Stone Season 4
The anime still has five arcs or two sagas left to cover. That said, there are theories that Dr. Stone Season 4 will adapt The Truth of the Petrification Saga, which features the New America City Arc, the South America Arc, the New Stone World Arc, and the Globetrotting Arc.
This saga focuses on the crew of Perseus as they visit different cities across the globe to find everything they need to create a rocket. In the manga, this runs from Chapters 139 to 212. However, considering that this would be the series' final season, it remains to be seen if the final saga, Stone to Space Saga, will also be adapted this time or into a movie. As some anime opt to end with a big surprise, this could be a film or an hour-long special.
So far, there are no words yet on what part of the manga the fourth season will cover. So, fans should take these assumptions with a grain of salt.
The anime is based on the manga of the same name, written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by the South Korean artist Boichi. Its serialization began in March 2017 and ended in March 2022, collecting 26 tankobon volumes and having over 15 million copies in circulation. All volumes have been published in English by Viz Media. It was then adapted into anime by TMS Entertainment, with the first season released in December 2019, followed by the second season in March 2021, the third season in July 2022, and the third season in April 2023.
Also animated by TMS Entertainment, Dr. Stone: New World (Season 3) covered the Treasure Island Arc, which ran for 22 episodes and split into two cours. Shuuhei Matsushima directed the third installment, with Yuichiro Kido on series composition and script. Most of the second season’s staff also returned, like Yuko Iwasawa as the character designer, Shunichiro Yoshihara as the art director, Jin Aketagawa as the sound director, and Takeshi Katsurayama as the director of photography.
Dr. Stone Season 4 is scheduled to be released in 2024. With the anime’s nearing ending, anime-only fans are about to see how Senku’s story will end.
