K-drama fans will finally see Suzy and Yang Se-Jong’s cute on-screen chemistry in the new Netflix series Doona! Just before the show premieres in a few hours, the streamer has been generous enough to drop an over five-minute pre-release teaser, seeing a former K-pop idol crashing Lee Won-Joon’s (Se-Jong) classes to ask him out for lunch.
Netflix has been hyping up Suzy’s next K-drama project, and it has evidently succeeded. Also known as the Nation’s First Love, many are on the lookout for her return to the small screen after the success of Coupang Play’s Anna. And after just over a year, the former Miss A member is back with Doona!
The teaser starts with Won-Joon looking for Lee Doo-Na (Suzy) downstairs to invite her to eat, though she seems to refuse, passing by him and slamming the door in front of his face. To his surprise, she crashes into his classes to accept his invitation. Despite denying her offer, he finally gives in as everyone starts to look at her.
“Don’t you mind being recognized?” he asks. Unbothered, Doo-Na believes not everyone recognizes her with her outfit. As the former K-pop idol warns Won-Joon not to fall in love with her, the latter tells her there’s no danger if that happens. “You never know,” she teases.

What is Doona! about?
Doona! follows the story of Lee Doo-Na, a former member of an idol group. She was the main vocalist and most popular among the other members. But as a surprising twist of fate, she suddenly retires. She now stays at a shared house near a university, where Lee Won-Joon chooses to live to be near his school. Described as a warm-hearted guy with nothing special about him, his warmth comforts Doo-Na. As the two often meet, they end up slowly falling in love.
