Episode of Savanaclaw, the second season of Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation, begins streaming on December 23, and Disney+ has confirmed its episode count and unveiled a new visual to go with the date. The season will run for eight episodes released weekly, moving the spotlight from Heartslabyul to the Lion King-inspired Savanaclaw dorm and its scheming housewarden, Leona Kingscholar.

Disney+ announced the date on Thursday and unveiled a new payoff visual for the season alongside it. The visual centers on new protagonist Yuuka Hirasaka clutching Grim with a bewildered look, surrounded by the Savanaclaw students at the heart of the unrest brewing inside Night Raven College.

Yuuka is a high school student who excels at judo, and she is whisked away to Twisted-Wonderland after encountering a mysterious carriage on her way home from a tournament. She takes over the protagonist role from the first season's Yuken Enma, and at Night Raven College she is quickly drawn into Leona's schemes while she searches for a way back home.

  • Fairouz Ai (Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean) as Yuuka Hirasaka

  • Yūichirō Umehara (Goblin Slayer in Goblin Slayer) as Leona Kingscholar

  • Taito Ban (Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling) as Jack Howl

  • Aoi Ichikawa as Ruggie Bucchi

Takahiro Natori returns as chief director and series script supervisor, with Shin Katagai directing at Yumeta Company and Graphinica. Yoichi Kato is the main writer, Hanaka Nakano and Akane Satō designed the characters, and Takumi Ozawa, who composed the music for the game, is composing the anime's score.

A teaser promotional video released in August gave the first look at Yuuka in motion, spotlighting Leona's hidden resolve and closing on the words "The scheming begins." The footage also showed Grim and the Heartslabyul students reacting to the trouble brewing around Trey Clover, teasing how the new chapter pulls the whole academy into Savanaclaw's plot.

What is Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation about?

The anime is based on Disney Twisted-Wonderland, the 2020 mobile game from Aniplex and Walt Disney Japan, with original concept, main scenario and character designs by Black Butler creator Yana Toboso. Its seasons adapt the game's manga adaptations published by Square Enix, and the series is a fantasy isekai academy adventure built around characters inspired by Disney's villains.

In the world of Twisted-Wonderland, seven legendary figures modeled on iconic Disney villains, known as the Great Seven, inspired the seven dormitories of Night Raven College, an elite academy for budding mages. Each season follows a new arrival at the college as they navigate its dorm rivalries while searching for a way home.

Disney+ describes the series in its official synopsis:

When a high school student is whisked away to a world of magic, he must steer clear of danger and work with his classmates to try and return home, in Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation , a new anime series debuting October 29 exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.
