X-Men '97 Season 2 recently got an update from one of the animated series' executive producers. The Marvel Disney+ show, which serves as a revival to the X-Men: The Animated Series (1992-97), is only a few months away from being released on Disney+, recently revealed more information and key art at San Diego Comic-Con , and now we know that a second season is already in development.
Following rumors spreading that Disney and Marvel Studios will be making budget cuts, some fans were concerned that some Marvel animated projects like Spider-Man: Fresh Man Year could get canceled. However, nothing has been canceled and the anime will likely be released in 2024. As for X-Men '97, it looks like there are currently no plans to cancel the nostalgic animated series.

X-Men '97 Season 2 Update
At San Diego Comic-Con 2023, X-Men ’97 head writer and executive producer Beau DeMayo assured fans (via The Direct) that X-Men '97 Season 2 is still currently in the works at Disney+.
He said that the creative team behind the highly-anticipated animated series is writing the X-Men '97 season finale for Season 2 "right now":
Based on this update, it looks like the creative team already have a clear direction on where they want to take X-Men '97's story, so we can expect that the first 10 episodes in Season 1 will not have such a conclusive finale. Marvel fans will likely see the X-Men fight different villains throughout the first couple of seasons.
When was X-Men '97 Season 2 confirmed?
Back in February 2023, Cal Dodd, the voice actor of Wolverine in both the original series and the revival, confirmed that production for X-Men '97 Season 2 already started.
In the text of his now-deleted tweet, Dodd dubbed the recording session as "GREAT!", tagging the series and Disney+ along with it.
In the accompanying video, he called the beginning of the season "just the beginning".
X-Men '97 Season 1 is scheduled to release on Disney+ later this year.
