Tanjiro Kamado has completed two training sessions in Demon Slayer Season 4 after recovering from his fight against the Upper Demons in the previous season. After successfully surpassing Tengen Zui’s stamina training and Muichiro Tokito’s swordsmanship and rapid movement training, he’s ready to level up his skills with Mitsuri Kanroji. The preview for Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5, titled I Even Ate a Demon, shows Tanjiro joining Mitsuri’s training as the Hashira Training Arc continues.

So far, the anime's official website has only released one still of Mitsuri for Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5. The preview perfectly captures Love Hashira’s cheerful mood, seemingly expressing her excitement as her flexibility training is about to begin. The previous episode already hinted at Tanjiro’s training with Mitsuri after arriving at her place.

Despite being emotional, kind, and passionate, Mitsuri is a powerful and skilled fighter. She has proven her great fighting abilities in a battle against Gyokko and Hantengu and unlocked her Demon Slayer Mark after pushing herself to be faster and stronger.

Mitsuri has a special muscular composition, making her muscles eight times denser than a regular human. She possesses unbelievable strength and endurance. Known for her enhanced flexibility, immense speed, reflexes, and stamina, she’s the perfect Hashira to train Tanjiro and other demon slayers’ flexibility.

What happened in Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 4?

Warning: Spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.

Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 4 showed Tanjiro joining Tokito’s training group. Tokito looked upset with the performance of the young demon slayers but cheered up when Tanjiro arrived. With advanced skills and abilities, Tanjiro inspired other trainees and bravely fought the Mist Hashira with their wooden training blades.

Tanjiro later challenged Tokito to a paper airplane contest to see who could fly the farthest. Tokito won over Tanjiro, proving his skills in making paper airplanes, which was his hobby. Other demon slayers joined in, ending up with everyone throwing colorful paper airplanes, though no one still managed to defeat Tokito.

The previous episode also showed Tokito joining Obanai Iguro and Sanemi Shinazugawa’s training. The three went on a battle to hone their fighting skills, preparing themselves to fight Muzan Kibutsuji amid the threat of his and his Upper Demons’ attack.

What to Expect from Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5

Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5 will see Tanjiro starting his training with Mitsuri. However, compared to his training with Tengen and Tokito, his flexibility training will be harder than it seems. The next episode is also expected to focus on Genya Shinazugawa. Despite being the younger brother of the Wind Hashira Sanemi, the two don’t go along very well. Hence, as the Hashira training continues, the two may have no choice but to finally interact after ages.

You can read the Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5 synopsis below:

Thanks to Tanjiro's efforts, Muichiro and the Demon Slayers have grown closer through training. After finishing Muichiro's training, Tanjiro heads to Mitsuri's training hall, but the flexibility training there is much harder than it looks.

The anime is based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga of the same title. After running for four years, from February 2016 to May 2020, it has collected 23 tankobon volumes and sold over 150 million copies worldwide. Hence, it’s no surprise that it has become one of the best-selling manga series of all time. Viz Media has licensed the manga in English.

Ufotable produced its anime adaptation, releasing its first season in 2019, followed by the second season in October 2021, and the third season in April 2023. Each season comes with sequel and compilation films, titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—The Movie: Mugen Train, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—To the Swordsmith Village, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—To the Hashira Training. The fourth season premiered in May 2024 and released four episodes.
