Ryan Reynolds teased the release of a new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer over the weekend on Instagram by dropping a new key visual and a short teaser of the adamantium-clawed hero’s return after his supposed death in the 2017 Logan. As promised, the preview is now live on his official YouTube channel, giving a glimpse of the titular characters’ epic leap into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

You can see the preview below:

The new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer starts with the classic grumpy Logan as he spends his time in a bar. The bartender asks him to leave the bar, as he’s not welcome anywhere. But as he asks for one last drink before he leaves, Deadpool appears, calling him “peanut” and asking him to come with him. Logan tries to dismiss him, but knowing how persistent Deadpool is, he stays and forces him to stand up.

This scene ignites a fight, as expected, but Logan’s claws don’t come out fully. “It’s quite common in Wolverines over 40,” Deadpool mocks him. Logans warns Deadpool, but the latter points a gun at him and asks him to reconsider his offer before he shoots him. Of course, the mutant is never afraid.

The next scene shows the two in their superhero costumes before it cuts to Wade’s birthday celebration, as seen in the first trailer. Deadpool tells Wolverine that he’s about to lose everything he cares about if he doesn’t come with him, but the latter claims it isn’t his problem anymore. As Paradox reveals that Wolverine lets down his entire world, a battle between the two heroes begins, and it’s every inch brutal and hair-raising while Madonna’s Like a Prayer plays in the background.

“Trust me, kid, I’m no hero,” Wolverine says, to which Deadpool tries to make him see that he’s an X-Man. Finally, Wolverine’s claws grow the way they used to as they fight the enemies together, while the new Marvel villain, Cassandra Nova, played by The Crown’s Emma Corrin, makes her appearance for the first time. From there, Wolverine finally joins Deadpool as they leap into the multiverse.

Meanwhile, in the new Deadpool & Wolverine visual, Deadpool touches one of Wolverine’s adamantium claws. Though it only focuses on their arms, it still excites fans, with Hugh Jackman commenting on Reynolds’ post. “Not done, sharpened,” he wrote.
