Deadpool & Wolverine Star Ryan Reynolds Launches Aviation Gin's Movie-Edition Cocktail

Ryan Reynolds is hitting two birds with one stone, promoting Deadpool & Wolverine and Aviation Gin for Father’s Day.

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and Ryan Reynolds knows how to celebrate this special day with style. As expected, the actor takes advantage of this event to promote his brand of gin and the upcoming movie Deadpool & Wolverine with Hugh Jackman. After introducing Aviation Gin’s Vasectomy cocktail last year, he has launched the movie edition of the drink.

You can watch Reynolds making the Deadpool & Wolverine-inspired drink below:

In a post on X, Reynolds revealed how viewers could make the Deadpool & Wolverine drink in their own homes. Known for his creative and hilarious skits to promote Aviation Gin, this year is like no other. Different clips from the movie's trailer play as he introduces the new edition of the brand. He then instructs viewers to take an ice-filled glass and pour in an ounce of cranberry juice.

He adds three ounces of tonic, grabs a slice of lemon, and squeezes it on the drink. If a couple of seeds get in the glass, Reynolds reveals it’s how he knows he’s doing things right. He adds one and a half ounces of Aviation Gin to complete the Vasectomy cocktail.

“It’s the same delicious Aviation Gin but with 100% more Deadpool,” he says.

Reynolds stirs the drink and adds some garnish. As he finishes, he reveals that it perfectly pairs with two dads over 40, referring to himself and Jackman, pretending they’re not too arthritic to do a superhero movie together.

Reynolds acquired a stake in the brand in 2018. Though it was sold to Diageo in 2020, he still maintains an “ongoing ownership interest.” He has been promoting Aviation Gin in his movies, like Red Notice and Deadpool 2. That said, fans may also see it in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Aviation Gin’s Limited Edition Deadpool & Wolverine Bottles

Aside from the movie-edition drink, Aviation Gin also launches six limited edition Deadpool & Wolverine bottles. Though the bottles have the same style, they differ in the movie’s logos, varying from Deadpool’s face to Wolverine’s iconic slash.

These will be available in early summer at retailers in select international markets in the US, the UK, Canada, and Australia. However, just like summer flings, the production of these special bottles will eventually stop, though its official website doesn’t reveal when it will end.

What is Deadpool & Wolverine about?

Deadpool & Wolverine will see the two titular characters taking a leap into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Time Variance Authority (TVA) will pull Wade Wilson into a new mission as the Multiverse becomes in danger. As Wade gets the help of Logan, the MCU’s history is about to change.

You can read the Deadpool & Wolverine synopsis below:

Wade Wilson lives a quiet life, having left his time as the mercenary Deadpool behind him until the Time Variance Authority (TVA)—a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline—pulls him into a new mission. With his home universe facing an existential threat, Wilson reluctantly joins with an even more reluctant Wolverine on a mission which will change the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
