We already knew from the moment Deadpool 3 was officially announced that it would skyrocket to the top of every superhero movie enthusiast's must-watch list. After all, the anticipation didn't just stem from Deadpool's already immense popularity in cinema but also from the revelation that he would be joined by another beloved character: Wolverine. Director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds managed to coax Hugh Jackman out of his X-Men retirement. So when Levy recently shared insights about the extraordinary experience of uniting these iconic figures on screen for the very first time, he admitted that expectations are high for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

During an interview at Collider's TIFF media studio at Cinema Center at MARBL, while promoting his limited series All the Light We Cannot See, Levy confirmed that the forthcoming blockbuster would do much more than just focus on the Merc with a Mouth. It's set to be a Logan/Wolverine film just as much as a Deadpool one. Described as a "two-hander," Levy teased that it would be "raw, audacious," and, naturally, maintain the bloody R-rated edge that fans have come to expect from the Deadpool franchise.

“You have two major movie stars together in a movie playing their most iconic signature roles – that is director heaven. So the story, the tone, the movie itself leans into that gift of having Deadpool and Wolverine co-starring in a movie for the first time. So, we're definitely not running away from that,” he said.

This revelation has only heightened the excitement surrounding Deadpool 3, promising an electrifying collision of two fan-favorite characters in a film that is expected to push boundaries and deliver a thrilling, R-rated cinematic experience.

What to expect in Deadpool 3?

The premise of Deadpool 3 is still a mystery. However, fans are expecting a plausible reason for the return of Wolverine after the character was killed off in the James Mangold film Logan. Is it possible that we'll be seeing a Wolverine from a different timeline? Didn't any of these people get snapped away by Thanos?

For now, we don't know much about the film. However, there's a good chance that Levy will be bringing the blood and gore that people have come to expect from the Deadpool movies. Hopefully, we'll learn more about the sequel in the next few weeks.
