Dan Da Dan Episode 12 (Season Finale) Preview Introduces Evil Eye and Naki Kito

Dan Da Dan Season 1 is coming to an end this week, and the hit supernatural sci-fi anime series is showing no signs of slowing down. Dan Da Dan has become one of the most beloved new anime shows broadcasting in the Fall 2024 anime season, and with one final episode to go for the first season, anime-only fans are wondering how Momo, Okarun, and Jiji will deal with the dark new threats.

The official accounts and website of the anime have released a teaser trailer and preview stills for Dan Da Dan Episode 12, Let’s Go to the Cursed House, and the season finale is set to introduce Evil Eye and Naki Kito. Episode 11 wasn't as intense as the previous episodes of Dan Da Dan, but it looks like the season finale will increase the pace. Watch the teaser trailer for Dan Da Dan Episode 12 below:

The official synopsis of Dan Da Dan Episode 12 (Season 1 finale) reads:

Momo and Okarun head to Jiji’s house in a hot spring town to investigate the incidents involving his family. Along the way, Okarun begins to feel uneasy about the close atmosphere between Momo and Jiji, but he also starts to be drawn to Jiji’s good-natured personality. As the three of them make their way through the mountains and arrive at the house, they immediately go inside. However, several shadowy figures are watching them…

Character visuals and descriptions were also revealed for Evil Eye and Naki Kito.

Here's the description for Evil Eye:

Evil Eye is a man in briefs who Jiji began to see after moving into his new house. He even appears in Jiji’s dreams to torment him.

Naki Kito will be voiced by Masako Isobe, and here's Naki's character description:

She is an incredibly strong old lady and the head of the Kito family, the landlords who control the village Jiji moved to. She believes strongly in the importance of manners, especially among those living on her property – and she’s willing to beat said manners into those who lack them.

Dan Da Dan anime is directed by Fuga Yamashiro, with Hiroshi Seko as the series composer, and Naoyuki Onda as the character designer. Science SARU is in producing its animation. Creepy Nuts performed the anime's opening theme song Otonoke while Zutomayo performed the ending theme song, TAIDADA.

Dan Da Dan Episode 12 Release Date and Where to Stream

The twelfth episode of Dan Da Dan (Season 1 finale) is scheduled to broadcast in Japanese networks at 12:26 am JST on December 18, 2024, so this means that most viewers outside of Japan will be able to watch the episode on Thursday, December 19. Release times would vary depending on your time zone and region.

Dan Da Dan Episode 12 will be available to stream with English subtitles on Netflix, Hulu and Crunchyroll.

What is Dan Da Dan about?

Dan Da Dan anime is based on the romantic comedy / supernatural manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, which began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service in 2021. As of July 2024, its chapters have been collected into 15 tankōbon volumes.
