Get ready to see a different fairy tale in the upcoming Netflix movie Damsel. In about a week, Millie Bobbie Brown will take her sword and fight a fire-breathing dragon to stop a tradition that has been happening for centuries in an eccentric kingdom. To give fans an idea of how this will happen, the streamer has dropped a new trailer, showing how Brown falls into a deep pit where a mythical beast lies.

You can see the preview below:

The new Damsel trailer starts with a dreamy set of Brown’s wedding with her prince charming Nick Robinson, officiated by the Queen, played by Robin Wright. But instead of the usual exchange of wedding vows, Wright mentions the sacrifice they must make to commemorate a tradition that has been going on for centuries and slashes their palms before the couple holds hands. Though evidently confused, Brown looks at her now-husband as Wright declares her official royal blood, inheriting a legacy of honor and duty, not knowing what she will be up to.

Brown then stares at the masked visitors while Wright tells her that she has to pay her due to the realm to ensure the kingdom will thrive forever and asks her to toss the coin into the chasm. After she does so, Robinson carries her and tells her to close her eyes. But instead of having the happily ever after she dreams of, her husband throws her into a hollow pit, where all she can do is scream.

But compared to the other damsels in the past, Elodie will prove that she can save herself and survive on he own.

You can read the synopsis below:

Damsel sees Brown as a dutiful, well, damsel, who agrees to marry a handsome prince — only to discover it was all a trap: The royal family recruits her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt.
