CD Projekt Red recently announced that it’ll be launching an Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077, its popular first-person RPG. Before the arrival of the Phantom Liberty expansion a couple of months back, many fans were wondering if CD Projekt Red plans on launching a collection that consists of all the content from the game sometime in the future. It seems like now we finally know the exact date as to when that’ll happen.
The developers offered fans a look at the box art for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on their social media this morning. As this collection also consists of Phantom Liberty, which is DLC that's exclusive to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, Ultimate Edition is only going to release on those platforms. When it comes to its release date, it’ll start hitting stores in two weeks, i.e., on December 5.
For players who haven’t yet explored the world of Cyberpunk 2077 but really wish to, Ultimate Edition gives them the opportunity to pick up the game in any capacity. With CD Projekt Red now shifting its focus to the development of a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, no more additional expansions or DLC are in the works for the current video game.
So, players can simply purchase Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, knowing that a brand-new iteration won’t come in the future, which is quite unfortunate. So, keep an eye out for the Ultimate Edition, which will come out on December 5. However, we sure do hope that the game’s sequel will continue the Cyberpunk 2077 legacy!
What content will be included in Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition?
As informed by a CD Projekt Red spokesperson to IGN, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will come with three disks for the Xbox Series X, including the base game and the Phantom Liberty expansion pack. The PlayStation 5 version will come with a disk for the base game, along with a code to redeem the expansion pack from the PlayStation store. Lastly, the PC edition will not come with any disks but contain a GOG code for both the game and expansion pack.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be different depending on the platform due to the technical requirements of each platform. It will also contain all the updates that have come out for the game ever since launch, so it will be a complete package for those who want to get access to the entire game altogether.
