Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty DLC, as well as the free update, also known as Cyberpunk 2.0, are both right around the corner. However, before those releases come out, CD Projekt Red is set to bring back its exciting Night City Wire series. This means that players will soon experience another livestream event they can watch that is going to share more information on the free update and Cyberpunk 2077's expansion.
The Night City Wire event is set to take place this week on Thursday, with the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 already teasing some details as to what players can expect from it, such as an appearance from the famous actor Idris Elba. The actor will play a new character known as Solomon Reed in the Phantom Liberty expansion and might just talk more about the role this Thursday once the Night City Wire event comes back. CD Projekt Red has revealed the event’s time and date, along with a surprise or two.
The developers revealed that the event is set to take place on September 14, Thursday at 8 AM PT. Players can watch it on Twitch or YouTube, but we aren’t quite sure how long the event is going to last. What’s interesting is that the event will be dedicated to brand-new radio stations that players can listen to as soon as all the content is released. CD Projekt Red has previously talked about it, stating that a new radio station called Growl FM will be added to the game with tracks that were made by the community and will be heard on the station.
Their previous tweet also claimed that the radio station would belong to the Phantom Liberty DLC. However, their latest tweet can be seen below, explaining the breakdown between what’s in the free update and the DLC:
Cyberpunk 2.0’s Release Date
Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty DLC will be released on September 26, with no official release date regarding Cyberpunk 2.0. We do know that the upcoming update will be released on a different date as compared to the DLC itself, with the developers saying that they will share more news soon about the update’s release plans. That might be one of the surprises that CD Projekt Red is planning on revealing for the new Night City Wire event.
