Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture (originally announced as Z of the Recapture), the latest project of the popular mecha anime franchise, will be split in four parts, starting from May 2024. Produced by Sunrise, the anime film will focus on the titular character Roze and his brother, Ash. The epic trailer reveals that the story will follow the pair of new characters on an all-new action-packed adventure full of mecha battles. At this point, it's still unclear how the story of the new project will tie to the most recent releases of the Code Geass franchise.
Roze will be voiced by Kohei Amasaki, while Makoto Furukawa plays the role of Ash. Goro Taniguchi and Ichiro Okouchi are credited for the story of Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, with Yoshimitsu Ohashi directing, and Noboru Kimura in charge of the series composition. CLAMP is once again credited with the film's original character designs with Hidekazu Shimamura and Takahiro Kimura as character designers. The theme song Running in My Head is performed by MIYAVI.

What is Code Geass about?
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is an original Japanese mecha/military alternate history anime series produced by studio Sunrise directed by Goro Taniguchi, with script written by Ichiro Okouchi. The CLAMP grouop worked on the original character designs. Code Geass Season 1 aired from October 2006 to July 2017, and consisted of 25 episodes. The sequel, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, aired from April 2008 to September 2008, and also ran with a total of 25 episodes.
A film trilogy that recapped the events from the first two seasons was released between 2017 and 2018, and its story adapted both seasons but was also set in an alternate universe, where the events happened differently. The movie trilogy are titled Initiation, Transgression, and Glorification, and they were followed by a sequel film, titled Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection in 2019. The franchise also released various OVA side stories, including the five-episode Code Geass: Akito the Exiled. Multiple light novel and manga adaptations of the series were also published.
Roze of the Recapture was announced alongside the Code Geass: Genesic Re;CODE gacha mobile game, which was released in 2021.
