Netflix has been dropping several promotional stints for its newest comedy K-drama, Chicken Nugget. After recently holding a press conference to give its cast a chance to talk about their characters and delve more into the series’ unique story, it has dropped an exclusive preview to give fans a glimpse of Kim Yoo-jung and Ahn Jae-hong’s first meeting. In the most unexpected turn of events, the My Demon star saves Jae-hong from a group of street thugs, sparking an instant connection between the two.
You can see the trailer below:
The Chicken Nugget preview begins with Jae-hong walking down the street and noticing a man being beaten up by gangsters. Though he seems not to pay attention, he’s later seen beating the poor victim with them. But don’t get Jae-hong wrong. As the mobsters ask who he is, he explains he’s a passerby who only wants to help their prey.
As it turns out, Jae-hong is not hitting their victim but putting antiseptic on his wounded face. Of course, this surprises the group with how fast he moves, ending up in a hilarious discussion between Jae-hong and its leader about flipping the dough when pounding rice cake. However, as the head realizes Jae-hong is also an enemy, he asks him if he’s good at fighting, to which he reveals he’s terrible.
“It’d be easy to beat you up, then,” the leader says. “Relatively, yes,” Jae-hong responds.
But as he’s about to be punched in the face, Yoo-jung enters the scene and throws a gelato to the enemy. She then bravely kicks him in the gut and grabs Jae-hong by the hand to run. As Jae-hong gets mesmerized by Yoo-jung’s incredible beauty, he can’t help but smile that a woman as pretty as she saves him. Later, the scene is revealed to be a flashback that gives Jae-hong the courage to save Yoo-jung after turning into a chicken nugget.
