A new K-drama series is coming to Netflix this month. Titled Captivating the King, this historical drama will be all about vengeance. But amid the revenge Shin Se-kyung plans to take against Cho Jung-suk, it will turn into a different kind of romance. In fact, in the new trailer Netflix has dropped for the series, Se-kyung is seen gradually falling in love with Jung-suk.
The Captivating the King preview begins with Se-kyung following Jung-suk in the middle of a forest, and the narration reveals she’s asking her father what kind of a person the king is. The scene then shifts to Jung-suk playing the arrows before he starts to play Go with Se-kyung. Se-kyung’s father describes the king as the man among men and plays Go just like her.
Their eyes meet as their hands touch while playing the game, eventually resulting in a close friendship between them. The trailer then shows the two spending more time and having fun together as Se-kyung starts to ask herself if she’s already falling for Jung-suk. But as the circumstances draw them apart, Se-kyung promises to make Jung-suk feel the same humiliation as she does.
