Over a year after the second season’s release, fans are still waiting for the coming of Bridgerton Season 3. And with the long anticipation, fans have already made several theories about what may happen next in the series. One assumption gains traction and even goes viral online, claiming who could be Eloise’s new friend.
Bridgerton Season 3 will see the fallout of Eloise’s friendship with Penelope. Hence, she’s about to meet a new friend in a very unlikely place, and one Redditor claims it could be Sir Phillip.
Based on the book series of the same name by Julia Quinn, fans who have read the novels will see this new claim not surprising at all. However, for the TV series-only fans, this may be a huge twist that nobody sees coming. If this happens, this may introduce the relationship that is about to brew between the two before their own season comes.
The Redditor cited a leaked behind-the-scenes photo where Fran and the suspected John are seen with Eloise next to a carriage to prove the claim. In addition, the poster claimed the quote “all my love” indicated in the happy planner came from Sir Philip and Eloise’s letters and not from Colin or Penelope.
Will Eloise and Sir Phillip possibly have their own Bridgerton season?
Though fans should only take the said theory with a grain of salt, the fifth book in Quinn’s Bridgerton novel series is indeed about Eloise and Sir Philip. Titled Sir Phillip, With Love, this may be the next novel Netflix will adapt, probably giving the two their own season. The streamer skipped adapting the third book, An Offer From a Gentleman: Bridgerton, and Bridgerton Season 3 is based on the fourth novel, Romancing Mister Bridgerton. So, if a fourth season happens, it may be about Eloise and Sir Phillip.
In the book, Sir Phillip proposes to Eloise that changes her life overnight. However, in the series, Sir Phillip marries Marina after his brother, George, dies during the war, leaving her pregnant and alone. But to give fans a glimmer of hope for their book story to continue, Marina tells Colin in one scene that they’re “not all guaranteed a fairy tale ending.”
So, does that mean that Marina and Sir Phillip may call it quits? Nobody really knows until Bridgerton Season 3 finally releases. But if that storyline pushes through, it may give way for Eloise and Sir Phillip’s book story to be on TV. So far, there are no words yet on when the third season will be released.
