Bridgerton Season 3 star Adjoa Andoh, who plays the role of Lady Danbury, shares a major new season release update, and it’s somehow disappointing. As fans expect to see the continuation of Colin and Penelope’s love story this year, it looks like it will never happen. But thankfully, the British actress also teases what fans can expect in the third season.
After the second season’s release in March 2022, many expect to see Bridgerton Season 3 hitting Netflix before the year ends. A December 14 release even reportedly leaked during TUDUM 2023 in June. However, it may be far from happening if Andoh's words have anything to go by.
In an interview with Hello! during the Pride of Britain red carpet, The Witcher star revealed Bridgerton Season 3 would be released in 2024 when asked how Colin and Penelope’s story would unfold. Andoh understands that fans are excitedly waiting for the new season, so when Colin and Penelope continue their tale, she said it would be “very gratifying.”
“Because of the way the year's panned out and that the season's going to come out next year, the anticipation is going to grow and grow,” she continued, seemingly unknowingly revealing the third season’s release.
What to expect in Bridgerton Season 3?
Andoh believed fans would be very satisfied when they finally saw Bridgerton Season 3, teasing there would be more “intrigue and romance.” Viewers will also see Lady Whistledown in action and Lady Danbury “pushing and pulling.”
Of course, true to the series’ fashion, the 60-year-old added there would be more fabulous outfits, location, and a “bit of how’s your father.” “If you like the show, you're going to get more of the same with bells on this season,” she continued.
What is Bridgerton Season 3 about?
Bridgerton Season 3 will focus on Colin and Penelope’s tale. After Penelope’s major heartbreak in the previous season, overhearing Colin saying he would never court her and falling out with her best friend, Eloise, the youngest Featherington child will be back with a vengeance. This time, she will be looking for a husband who will help her gain more independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown.
However, her lack of confidence will see her fail. But as Colin is back and eager to win her friendship, he will help Penelope be more confident and find the husband she’s looking for. As Colin starts working too well, he will be confused if her feelings for Penelope are still friendly.

Netflix has yet to reveal when Bridgerton Season 3 will be released. As 2023 is in its last quarter, Andoh’s release update is probably true.
