Fans are about to see Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton in a whole new light in the upcoming Bridgerton Season 3. After being friends, these two are about to take their relationship to another level, as the story will now focus on their romance. However, before that happens, there will be a big confrontation between the two, as the new season’s sneak peek shows Penelope confronting Colin after overhearing him telling his friends that he will never court her.

The new Bridgerton Season 3 clip reveals how Penelope tries to leave Colin as she bids him goodnight. But instead of letting her go, he asks her if he doesn’t need a chaperone, to which Penelope refuses, calling herself a “spinster.” As Colin insists she’s not an unmarried old woman, Penelope gets irritated and stresses that she’s in her third year on the marriage mart and no one shows interest.
The reaction surprises Colin, and he can’t help but ask Penelope if there’s something wrong between them. He then reveals that he wrote to her but didn’t get a response. From there, he confesses he misses her, but Penelope laughs and reveals she overheard him telling everyone he would never court her. As Penelope starts feeling sorry for herself, she leaves Colin looking guilty.
Netflix also drops new stills for Bridgerton Season 3. Of course, it mostly focuses on Penelope and Colin and their new looks as she holds his hand. The preview also features Colin with Benedict Bridgerton as they’re enjoying their drink and watching; a grown-up Francesca Bridgerton with her mom Violet Bridgerton talking to each other; an old look of Penelope with her sisters Philipa and Prudence Featherington while standing outside the mansion; Lady Danbury with Queen Charlotte and Brimsley while seemingly looking at someone; and Will Mondrick with his wife Alice and their kids as they’re about to leave while a carriage waits for them.

Bridgerton Season 3 sees Penelope starting to hate Colin after overhearing him telling his friends that he would never court her and starts to look for a husband. So, to win back her trust, he helps her to find her future spouse, not knowing he’s starting to fall in love with her. The new season also follows the story of Penelope’s rift with Eloise and her difficulty hiding her alter ego as Lady Whistledown.

Penelope enters Season 3, finally ready to give up her longtime crush on Colin. However, that doesn’t mean she’s done with love. Instead, Penelope has decided it’s time to take a husband — and preferably one who will give her the freedom to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from the prying eyes of her mother and sisters. Lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger.
