Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 just got a lot more interesting. With the Shibuya Incident arc in full swing, viewers are set to meet several new characters in the upcoming episodes. One of the new faces fans will get to meet is a key character who will be portrayed by a legendary voice actor known for her role in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations!
The official Jujutsu Kaisen X account announced a new cast member joining in the upcoming episode. It was confirmed that Yuki Sanpei will debut in Episode 8 as Ui Ui, the younger brother of Grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer Mei Mei. It's a small but important role made more significant by the actor who will play him.
She may be a woman but Yuki Sanpei is no stranger to playing young boys in anime. Sanpei is known for taking on the role of Boruto Uzumaki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. She previously portrayed Selim Bradley aka Pride in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Taichi Yagami in Digimon Adventure, Seita in Gintama, and most recently, Ryunosuke Minakata in Summer Time Rendering. Needless to say, she is a welcome addition to the Shibuya Incident arc considering that the sorcerers are going to need all the help they can get.
Who is Ui Ui in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Although he is several years younger than Mei Mei, Ui Ui is a reliable key player in the Shibuya Incident arc. The boy is set to be her constant companion as the battle ensues and his age is only a slight hindrance in his desire to please his sister. Moreover, he's too young to be a student at Tokyo Jujutsu Tech but the sorcerers are going to need his help as this all goes down.
Get ready to meet Ui Ui later this week. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 8 is titled Shibuya Incident ("Shibuya Jihen") and is set to premiere on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
