The British crime thriller featuring a time travel-related storyline, Bodies Season 1 takes an interesting approach to storytelling. The show features a unique plot as well as well-defined characters whose authenticity is proven by their attention to detail.
Bodies shows us the scenario of four different London police officers in four different points in time, i.e., 1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053, as they investigate a murder. The murder is then shown to be of the same person in every time period, which boggles the viewer’s mind.
An interesting story then unfolds that shows Elias Mannix, who lives in 2053, going back in time to 2023 so him and his KYAL cult could take over the country. The 2053 cop managed to help a policewoman, Iris, go back in time to prevent this time heist from taking place in the first place, and they are shown to have succeeded in their attempt. This results in Elias Mannix and an elder Hasan being wiped from existence.
Does Bodies Season 1 Set Up Season Two?
The ending of Bodies looks like a fitting conclusion to the story, but then, right at the end, we are shown Hasan, who steps into a cab driven by the future version of Iris. They then drive away as one of the buildings flashes the KYAL logo.
Could this mean that Mannix succeeded in his attempt to gain power for his cult? Or is there something else at play? We can’t tell for sure since the first season of this show ended on a cliffhanger, but will the story pick off in the second season of the show?
Will There Be a Bodies Season 2?
There hasn’t been any official statement regarding whether or not a second season of the show is in the works. However, considering the first season ends on a cliffhanger and the show received massive critical approval, one would assume that season two of Bodies would be in the works.
The writer for the show, Paul Tomalin, said in an interview with Hello magazine,
This implies that there is a high chance that there won’t be a second season for Netflix’s Bodies. Although the writer hints that he might not return for Bodies Season two, there’s a good chance that Netflix might just continue without him. However, given Netflix’s history of canceling shows, we hope this one doesn’t get canceled.
