The staff of Blue Lock - EPISODE Nagi: The Movie has revealed a new trailer and key visual. The highly-anticipated sports anime movie is schduled to premiere on April 19, 2024 in Japan. Studio8bit is animating the feature film based on the Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura's spin-off manga, Blue Lock - EPISODE NAGI.

What is Blue Lock - EPISODE Nagi: The Movie about?

Blue Lock - EPISODE Nagi: The Movie is a spinoff of the main series, and it follows the events of Blue Lock from the perspective of the genius prodigy, Seishiro Nagi, exploring his games and battles during the Blue Lock dispute.

Kodansha, which published the manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, is also publishing the series in English, and the publisher shared an official plot description for the spinoff:

After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win! The Football Association is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match … To do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players. Who will emerge to lead the team … and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way?

Blue Lock Season 2 TV anime has already been confirmed, and it's expected to premiere sometime next year.
