The premiere of Blue Beetle is only a few days away but it looks like Angel Manuel Soto is ready for the future. The director is already teasing the follow-up to the upcoming DC Universe flick. In addition to that, Soto can't help but hype up a possible trilogy following Jaime Reyes' heroic journey.

Angel Manuel Soto hasn't been shy about his dreams for Blue Beetle. The Charm City Kings director has repeatedly teased the superhero's potential of getting a sequel. However, Soto is now pushing for at least two sequels which would give Jaime Reyes his own trilogy!

In a recent interview with GamesRadar, Angel Manuel Soto discussed how they have always planned for Blue Beetle to be the first installment in a film series.

"When [writer] Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer and I were working on the script, we always saw this as the first act," he said. Soto continued by explaining how Jaime's journey will be told in the sequel.

"You’re introduced to the world, you meet him, [there’s] an inciting incident, and then he’s off to the new world. We wanted to do that part then – for the next movie – see him take what he’s learned, put it into practice, fail, triumph, and then eventually grow," he stated.

It's a promising tease at what Blue Beetle can do in the future. The trailer and teasers for the new DC film also suggested that this is only the start of Jaime's story and we could see him grow as a superhero in a future project. With that in mind, we're hoping that Blue Beetle gets two sequels in the future.
