Three years after the first season’s release, Heron is finally back! Formerly known as Gods & Heroes,  Charley and Vlas Parlapanides’ fantasy action animated series received its second season renewal in December 2020. And after some time, with the deafening silence about its progress, Netflix has finally dropped its first look preview, featuring Heron and his incredible power.

The preview starts with a glimpse of the Underworld, while the voice of Seraphim can be heard in the background. “Join me, brother,” he says. “We can have our vengeance and end the reign of the gods.” As he invites Heron to join him, an image of Zeus himself is revealed while his overflowing power emerges from his body.

“He’s not a mortal; he’s my son,” Zeus claims as a scene of confused Heron is revealed, followed by an image of his father’s statue. As another voice claims that not all demigods hold divine strength, he believes Heron possesses it. “Let’s find out,” he says. “It’s time, Heron. This is how you show the world who you really are.” As the lighting strikes Heron, he unleashes his incredible power as his scream pierces the rock and destroys the land he stands on.

What is Blood of Zeus Season 2 about?

Details about Blood of Zeus Season 2 remain scarce. However, the creators Charley and Vlas and the first season director Shaunt Nigoghossian already teased their plans for the series’ second installment. In an interview with Comicbook, Nigoghossian revealed that Charley and Vlas had a lot of things going on for the second season, and they were ready for it.

He then revealed there would be a story about Medusa. “I don’t know if I can say that,” he continued. But Charley seemed to support Nigoghossian’s claim, adding there would be more of other gods in the series, including Athena. As many complained about Athena’s absence in the anime’s first season, he revealed that the original plan was to make five seasons, and it would feature the goddess of war and wisdom.

“We see her; there are shots of her,” he added. Charley also teased that they had already worked out a very detailed 20-page outline for Blood of Zeus Season 2.
