Black Clover manga now has a new home following surprisingly leaving Weekly Shonen Jump after eight years. The release of the most recent chapter, Chapter 368, has announced its formal exit from the weekly magazine and its move to its sister magazine, Jump GIGA. Creator Yuki Tabata has explained the reason behind the jump and promised to give the series a proper conclusion as Asta begins his final battle against Lucius.

Black Clover started its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2015. As of June 2023, its chapters have collected 35 tankobon volumes. With its latest move to Jump GIGA, what will happen to the series?

The surprising announcement came with the release of Black Clover Chapter 368 in Weekly Shonen Jump on Sunday, August 20. At the end of the chapter, it was revealed that the series would formally exit WSJ, and the next and future chapters would be seen in Jump GIGA.

However, Jump GIGA is known for only releasing new issues every quarter, so fans can only read further chapters of Black Clover once every three months. But despite the massive change in the manga’s release schedule, Tabata may see it fit, considering his health issues often result in the series’ unforeseen hiatuses.

Yuki Tabata Explains the Reason Behind Black Clover Jump

In a message shared with Shueisha, Tabata admitted he was already struggling with writing Black Clover with its weekly schedule. "After multiple discussions with the editorial department, it has been decided that I will move the series to Jump GIGA,” he said.

Sure, this announcement came as a surprise for fans, but he was sorry that he wasn’t able to end the series in WSJ. “But I believe that in GIGA, I will be able to end the series in a manner that matches my current drawing pace and is much better for my health,” he continued.

Despite the change, the mangaka vowed to give Black Clover a “satisfying” conclusion,” especially now that he has ample time to write new chapters one after another. "There is still much that I want to draw and much that I must draw, so please look forward to it,” Tabata added.

When will Black Clover Chapter 369 be released?

Black Clover is now featuring the final battles of the Clover Kingdom against the villain Lucius. The eldest of the Zogratis siblings has revealed that each of his Paladins poses a great threat, hinting at an epic fight that is about to come, especially since Asta has returned to the battlefield after training in the Land of the Sun.

Tabata revealed to continue Asta’s journey in the winter in GIGA. True enough, the long wait for the new Black Clover chapters will be a pain for fans. However, it is believed that GIGA will have more pages, with some saying it could be between 40 and 50 pages per chapter, compared to WSJ’s 15 pages; the wait will surely be compensated.
