TO Books has announced that the anime adaptation of Miya Kazuki's Ascendance of a Bookworm light novel series will adapt Part 3: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke, and that it will be released in 2026. Studio WIT will be in charge of the animation for the fourth season. The announcement was made on TO Books' official X account, which also revealed that the light novels' third volume of short story collection (featured in embedded tweet below) is scheduled to release on December 10. It also revealed that the light novel series reached 11 million copies in circulation.

The previous three seasons of Ascendance of a Bookworm anime were animated by Ajia-do. Season 1 aired in 2019, followed by Season 2 in 2020, and Season 3 in 2022. A couple of 15-minute unaired episodes were released with the 22nd limited-edition volume of the Ascendance of a Bookworm light novel in 2020. The upcoming Season 4 was officially announced on December 6, 2023.
What is Ascendance of a Bookwork Part 3 about?
The Ascendance of a Bookworm anime is based on the isekai light novel series of the same title (Japanese: Honzuki no Gekokujō - Shisho ni Naru Tame niwa Shudan o Erandeiramasen) written by Miya Kazuki and illustrated by You Shiina. TO Books published the series, which started in 2015, two years after the story made its debut as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel, and thirty-two volumes have been published since January 2015. The series also received a manga adaptation with art by Suzuka, and it was serialized online via Niconico Seiga website from October 2015 to July 2018.
The third part of Ascendance of a Bookwork begins in Volume 8 of the light novel series, and J-Novel's official synopsis of the volume reads:
