Four years after Season 1 ended on its biggest cliffhanger, All of Us Are Dead Season 2 stepped back into the spotlight at Netflix Korea's 10th anniversary festival in Seoul. On the "What Next?" stage, Yoon Chan-young settled the show's longest-running question in character, confirming that Lee Cheong-san survived Season 1.
"Everyone, do you remember Cheong-san? You may have thought I was dead, but I, Cheong-san, am still alive," Yoon told the crowd during Netflix's "What Next?" showcase at Netf-Janchi on Saturday. The appearance marked the first time the Season 2 cast had presented the show publicly since the renewal was announced in June 2022.
Park Ji-hu played along with the reveal on stage. "Cheong-san, you were alive. I was really worried you wouldn't return, since you disappeared last season leaving so many questions unanswered," she told him, and Yoon replied, "I missed you, On-jo."
The question had hung over the series since Season 1's finale, which ended with Cheong-san dragging Gwi-nam into a burning building. Netflix's cast announcement in July 2025 confirmed Yoon Chan-young was returning but carefully avoided saying how, which left flashbacks and a return as a halfbie as open possibilities.
Park Ji-hu described On-jo as terrified of an "evolved" zombie crisis but still fighting to protect her friends until the very end. "This season, we follow the stories of our friends who have grown into impressive college students and adults, and witness a larger-scale, more intense battle against zombies in the new setting of Seoul," she said.
Cho Yi-hyun's Nam-ra is still a half-zombie wandering around Hyosan. Lomon joked that Su-hyeok has "returned as a wonderful adult" after the Hyosan High outbreak.
Season 2 moves the story to Seoul, where On-jo is now a university student when a new wave of infection hits the capital. New cast members Lee Min-jae, Kim Si-eun, Roh Jae-won and Yoon Ga-yi join the returning four, with Roh Jae-won playing a National Intelligence Service team leader.
Director Lee Jae-kyu had hinted at a plan for Cheong-san back in 2022, warning that if the character returned, "some people won't accept it, and some will be happy about it." He has also said that while Season 1 was about humans surviving, Season 2 will be about zombies surviving.
The stakes for the answer were high because of how big Season 1 became. The series entered Netflix's non-English Top 10 in 91 countries and piled up more than 560 million viewing hours in its first 28 days, which made Cheong-san's fate one of the streamer's longest-running cliffhangers.
No teaser was shown and no premiere date was given, with the season billed only as "coming soon" after filming wrapped in February 2026. When it arrives, All of Us Are Dead Season 2 will stream on Netflix.
