Ahsoka Episode 6 introduced a lot of interesting Star Wars characters in Peridea, from the seemingly fierce yet loyal Howler who becomes Sabine Wren's mount to the quirky Noti who have been helping Ezra Bridger survive on the planet. But perhaps the most intriguing new players are Captain Enoch and the Night Troopers who are now fighting for Grand Admiral Thrawn's cause. After all, these new Stormtroopers might be Thrawn's secret weapon in his mission to bring back the Galactic Empire.

In Ahsoka Episode 6, we finally got to see Thrawn's return and as expected, he made a grand entrance aboard the ISD Chimaera. Although viewers were focused on Thrawn's arrival, it was also noted that the Imperial officer had some interesting new Stormtroopers at his disposal. These troopers, who are later revealed to be "Night Troopers", don damaged armor that were repaired with gold plaster and red bandages similar to Kylo Ren's helmet in the Star Wars sequel films. The most obvious repair is seen on Captain Enoch who has replaced his helmet with a gold face.

But who are these Night Troopers and how did they end up looking like this? The answer to the first question is obvious: they are assigned to Thrawn. In response to the second one may have a lot to do with being stuck in Peridea. These Stormtroopers have been forced to fend for themselves on an unforgiving planet and without access to new armor, they may have needed to repair what they have with anything they can find. But in line with that, their appearance might symbolize how Thrawn managed to come up with an army in the first place.

How Did Thrawn Get So Many Night Troopers?

It's clear that there are a lot of new Stormtroopers and their damaged appearance might not just be because of survivable injuries. Considering that the mysterious Marrok had been revealed to be a result of the Dathomiri dark magick, there is a huge possibility that these troopers are not actually alive and Thrawn had resurrected his own dead troopers with the help of the Great Mothers. Since he mentions that he will need the Great Mothers' help again, there's a huge possibility that the Night Troopers were the first favor they did for him.

For now, we haven't seen any Night Troopers dying and turning into green smoke so there is no proof of the theory. However, there is a huge chance we'll get to see what these Stormtroopers are truly about in the next episode.
