One of the best things about Ahsoka Episode 7 was Ezra Bridger, who finally got more screentime after his highly awaited arrival last week. As expected, Eman Esfandi did an awesome job bringing the beloved Star Wars Rebels character to life and his performance in Dreams and Madness also revealed something interesting about the young Jedi. But is it possible that Ezra is just as powerful as a Star Wars legend?
In Ahsoka Episode 7, Ezra and Sabine Wren were attacked by bandits and Night Troopers who were led by Shin Hati. Although Sabine tries to give him back his old lightsaber, Ezra refuses and chooses to fight by solely using the Force. Although he does use his opponents' weapons against them, one of his amazing moves involves engaging Shin and stopping her lightsaber with the Force.
It's a cool move considering that the Jedi always rely on lightsabers in fights. However, Shin's weapon is clearly not an advantage against Ezra who can simply use the Force to defend himself.
Although it's a seemingly new move, we've already seen it before. Darth Vader himself did the same thing (more effortless, we must stress) in Obi-Wan Kenobi when he went up against the former Jedi Reva. We're also pretty sure that there are other Force-users out there who have done it before in the Star Wars Universe but it's notable that only Ezra and Vader have pulled it off quite easily.
So does this mean Ezra is just as powerful as Vader himself? Since other Force-users have done it, it's not impossible for others to use the move. Still, it was great to see how Ezra has improved in using the Force without the need for weapons.
Will Ezra Reveal More Unexpected Force Moves in the Ahsoka Finale?
At this point, it's clear that Ezra has learned to live without a weapon and has chosen a more peaceful life with the Noti village who adopted him on Peridea. Still, the new threat that Sabine was brought back into his life means he'll now have to fight to leave the galaxy and go back home. With that in mind, there's a possibility that Ezra will reveal whether he has been practicing while he was away and he may have come up with some interesting (and non-violent) ways to use the Force.
For now, it's unclear if Ezra will need to pick up a lightsaber again in Ahsoka's final episode. Still, fans are already looking for the Star Wars show's finale. Ahsoka Episode 8 will premiere on Disney+ on October 3, 2023.
