Netflix is now preparing for the launch of one of its most anticipated TV series of the year, 3 Body Problem. Created by the Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, in collaboration with Alexander Woo, the show promises to deliver an epic drama inspired by the acclaimed novel The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin. As the series' premiere draws near, Netflix has just unveiled its final trailer, showing a critical event where the world is on the brink of chaos and war.
You can see the preview below:
The over two-minute 3 Body Problem trailer is every inch epic, as it delves into the mysteries of the universe as humanity faces its greatest threat yet. It opens with a fleet of police cars outside a cryptic house, then transitions to an injured woman having a mysterious phone conversation. “I have to tell you something,” she says. “Something insane, but true.” The suspense heightens as several men are seen hanging from every street light pole.
The preview then introduces a group of young Oxford scientists, the Oxford Five, who are seen having a good time before the mysterious woman appears to reveal a strange sequence they received, sparking intrigue. Benedict Wong continues the narration, revealing that this sequence was first detected in 1977 and was dubbed the “Wow!” signal. As the night sky flickers, an elderly woman issues a chilling warning, “They are coming.”
“Who are they?” Jovan Adepo asks Wong, who responds that the question needs an answer. The trailer then shows a peculiar virtual reality device. As each member of Oxford Five wears this piece, they’re taken to a different world, where a number of strange events start to happen. With the explicable events happening one after another, Sea Shimooka believes they’re at war.
