Last week, Marvel Studios announced that production on Avengers: Doomsday already started. A five-hour live-stream revealed a new actor's name on the back of a director's chair every 12 minutes or so, and it was filled with surprises.

Out of the 27 confirmed cast members, the most surprising ones are the seven who are reprising their X-Men roles. Most of them starred in Fox's X-Men films: Sir Ian McKeellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming, James Marsden, and Kelsey Grammer. Channing Tatum, who played Gambit in last year's Deadpool & Wolverine, will also be making a return.

However, the exclusion of names such as Famke Jensen as Jean Grey, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and Halle Berry as Storm made us wonder if there's still a chance for them to appear in the film. Marvel Studios confirmed that more cast members will be announced for Avengers: Doomsday, and one of the recent rumors claim that Halle Berry is close to finalizing a deal to reprise her iconic role as Ororo Munroe/Storm.

Now, Berry has broken her silence during her appearance at CinemaCon. When The Associated Press asked her if she would return as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday, she plainly stated that she will not appear in the 2026 MCU event film.

"Well, keep waiting because it's not going to be there. [Laughs] It's not going to be there," she replied.

Will Halle Berry return as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday?

Berry first appeared as Storm in Bryan Singer's X-Men, which was released in theaters on July 14, 2000. She reprised her role in three other films: X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Stand. Many fans speculated her to return as Storm since her character hasn't made a live-action jump to the MCU yet. If what Berry's word are to be believed, then Storm will not be one of the X-Men returning in Avengers: Doomsday.

While there's a chance that Berry could be telling the truth here, she might under strict instructions to not reveal anything away during interviews. Audiences will likely have to wait until the film releases next year to find out for sure, but at this time, we don't have any official confirmation of Halle Berry's return as Storm.
