The Wound & Bandage TV anime has unveiled its third theme visual and teaser trailer, themed "Companions," along with two new members of its voice cast. The reveal is the third of four weekly announcements for the romantic comedy, following the "Love" and "Fetish" themed reveals of the past two weeks.
The two new additions are Yuka Iguchi (Myne in Ascendance of a Bookworm) as Magical Penpengusa and Yoko Hikasa (Sakura Rokudo in Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life) as Matsu Daemon. Like the earlier weekly teasers, the "Companions" trailer introduces its newly announced characters alongside the series' leads.

They join a cast led by Hisako Kanemoto (Erza Scarlet in Fairy Tail) as Riyo Washizu and Chikahiro Kobayashi (Legoshi in Beastars) as Go Kiritani. Shoya Ishige rounds out the announced cast as Ginsuke Hatobane, having joined the series in last week's "Fetish" reveal.
A new theme visual released with the trailer puts Magical Penpengusa and Matsu Daemon front and center under the "Companions" theme. The announcement also confirmed that a special tissue giveaway event will be held to promote the series.
Behind the scenes, Miyuki Ishida is directing the anime at J.C.STAFF, with Susumu Yamakawa writing the scripts. Natsuki Oyama is designing the characters.
What is Wound & Bandage about?
The anime adapts Umihoshi Nanai's romantic comedy manga, which began as a one-shot in February 2024 before launching full serialization that August on Kodansha's Comic Days platform under its Monthly Magazine Base label. Five collected volumes have been published to date, and the series earned a nomination for the Next Manga Award 2026 in the web category.
Kiritani, a young lieutenant of the Kurotori-kai, the direct line of the Washizu-gumi that controls the Kanto region, is ordered to look after Riyo, the boss's daughter. He expects a quiet, harmless kid, but Riyo hides a special fetish: she gets excited seeing strong people weakened, a quirk she named being a "yowarer."
A young yakuza underboss is ordered to protect his boss's daughter — a seemingly innocent girl with an unexpected fascination for strong people at their most vulnerable.
Wound & Bandage premieres on January 9, 2027, with AT-X carrying the first broadcast at 11:00 p.m. JST, followed by the ABC TV and TV Asahi ANiMAZiNG!!! block at 2:00 a.m. ABEMA will offer the fastest streaming from 2:30 a.m. the same night.
