Last week, the first episode of Wistoria: Wand and Sword anime premiered on Crunchyroll and it impressed fans with its stunning fantasy visuals and wonderfully-animated fight scene as it introduced protagonist Will Serfort, a young student at the Regarden Magical Academy shunned by most students and faculty due to his lack of magical aptitude. However, he has mastered swordsmanship and he gained the ability to counter any opponent's attacks after witnessing them once.

Today, the official website of the anime has revealed a 14-second teaser, preview images, and official synopsis for Episode 2, which is titled Unyieldingly (based on the rough English translation). The second episode is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Check out the teaser for the upcoming episode below:

The official synopsis of Wistoria: Wand and Sword Episode 2 reads:

Inside the school, there is a lot of talk about how honor student Shion defeated a formidable enemy. However, only Shion and some of the teachers knew that the true subjugator was Will. Even after knowing this fact, the teacher, Edward, still cannot accept the existence of Will, who cannot use any magic. Edward, a magician who once came as close as possible to the "Supreme Five Wands Magia Vende" and was feared as the Dark Serpent Anja. As a school teacher, he prepares a special assignment just for Will.

Studio ACTAS is animating Wistoria: Wand and Sword, with Tatsuya Yoshihara (Chainsaw Man action director) as the director, series composer, and scriptwriter. Sayaka Ono (Cross Ange Rondo of Angel and Dragon) is in charge of the character designs, while Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia) is working on the anime's music composition.

What is Wistoria: Wand and Sword about?

Wistoria: Wand and Sword is based on the manga of the same title (Japanese: Tsue to Tsurugi no Uisutoria) written by Danmachi‘s Fujino Omori and illustrated by Toshi Aoi. The fantasy manga series started serialization on Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in Decembrer 2020. As of June 2024, its chapters have been compiled into 10 tankoubon volumes.
