Kodansha and Team Caravan have confirmed an official release date for the upcoming Wind Breaker: Rebel Heroes mobile game, based on Satoru Nii's martial arts adventure manga, Wind Breaker. The game is scheduled to launch for iOS, Android, and PC via Steam on March 12, 2025 in Japan.

Along with the release date confirmation, a new trailer has been released for Wind Breaker: Rebel Heroes, which turns the CloverWorks-produced anime adaptation into a gacha fighting game, recreating iconic fights from the series. The action-packed video previews the mobile game's story and graphics while also confirming that the Japanese voice actors of the anime reprised their roles for the game.

Wind Breaker: Rebel Heroes is described to be a 3D role-playing game that features story from the manga and anime as well as a brand new original story about Chōji. Players can interact with other characters and bond with them. The mobile game is free-to-play with in-app purchases.

The first season of the Wind Breaker TV anime adaptation premiered on April 4, 2024, and it's available to stream on Crunchyroll, with the official English dub. Wind Breaker Season 2 was officially confirmed to premiere in April 2025.

What is Wind Breaker about?

The anime is based on the Wind Breaker manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Nii, which debuted in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket in 2021. As of September 2023, 13 volumes have been published. The series was among AnimeJapan 2022‘s most desired works to receive an anime adaptation. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in North America, and print copies were published in the region recently.

Kodansha USA provided a description for Wind Breaker:

Haruka Sakura wants nothing to do with weaklings—he’s only interested in the strongest of the strong. He’s from Fuurin High School, a school of near-dropout degenerates known only for their brawling strength. And in a town known for its territorial disputes, Haruka’s got only one goal—become the hero his town deserves.
