Netflix has released the first trailer for Weak Hero Class 2 ahead of its April 25 premiere. Following the success of Weak Hero Class 1, the coming-of-age drama follows high school student Yeon Si-eun's journey (Park Ji-hoon) as he moves to a new school after losing his dear friends fighting against school violence. The sequel, which comes about two-and-a-half years since the premiere of Weak Hero Class 1, will see Si-eun, riddled with trauma, come face to face with greater violence. While the first season was released in 2022, it only was made available to the platform in March 2025 ahead of Season 2's premiere.
The first teaser trailer for Weak Hero Class 2 shows Si-eun transferring to Eunjang High School, carrying the pain of his past. The video shows him meeting new friends like Park Hu-min (Ryeo Un), Go Hyun-tak (Lee Min-jae), and Seo Jun-tae (Choi Min-yeong), as well as enemies like Na Baek-jin (Bae Na-ra), Choi Hyo-man (Yu Su-bin), and Geum Seong-je (Lee Jun-young). A new teaser poster for Weak Hero Class 2 was also released to remind K-drama viewers of its highly-anticipated premiere on Netflix:
What is Weak Hero Class 2 about?
You Su-min, who helmed Weak Hero Class 1, returns to direct Weak Hero Class 2, with Han Jun-hee as executive producer. Weak Hero Class 2 is a compelling coming-of-age drama about growth and friendship while delving "the tougher side of teenage life", picking up after the events of the first season's finale. Despite rumors about Si-eun being a murderer, the trailer shows him making new friends. As the teaser poster shows Si-eun's strong gaze and steely facial expression despite his bruised cheek and bleeding lip, the image also gives a glimpse of his willingness to protect his friends.
Weak Hero Class 2 premieres on Netflix on Friday, April 25.
