New Agent releases are some of the most exciting updates VALORANT players are looking forward to every year, and the next one, "Agent 26", is expected to be fully revealed during the VALORANT Champions 2024 event, the game's biggest esports event of the year.
Since the VALORANT Protocol skips Agent 8, Agent 26 will be the first-person tactical shooter's 25th playable Agent, hence the irregularity —and will follow Clove, the latest Controller type Agent introduced in Episode 8, Act 2 on March 26, 2024. Riot has been sharing teasers for Agent 26, and we will sum up everything we know about the upcoming Agent in this space.

VALORANT Agent 26 Potential Release Date
Riot hasn't officially announced the release date of Agent 26. but given that the new Agent is expected to be revealed during the final weekend of VALORANT Champions 2024 at Seoul, South Korea, we can expect the new Agent to arrive when Episode 9, Act 2 launches on August 27.
Riot Games already announced on July 24 that the new Agent will be revealed on August 23, at the start of VALORANT Champions 2024 weekend. Just like with previous new Agent reveals, we can expect a show match showcasing the new Agent before the grand finals match of the tournament.
VALORANT Agent 26 Teasers
Most of the teasers revealed for Agent 26 so far feature spiky metallic vines and roots as well as a mysterious rose that doesn't seem to originate from Earth. The player cards (shown above) shared early hints of Agent 26, but the full appearance of the new character still remains a mystery.
When the official map trailer for Abyss was released two months ago, Riot teased a new character toward the end of it. The ominous figure can be seen trapped in an hourglass-shaped prison with frosted windows on A site of Abyss. This shadowy creature was visible in a custom match with cheats on before Patch 9.03, and they could be seen moving side to side.
However, after a new patch went live on August 13, the prison appears to have been destructed by large vines with spikes, presumably depicting the new Agent's abilities. The windows on the upper section are no longer frosted, and if you use Ghost mode and head to the other side, you can only see hollow space.
A teaser in the form of a Jett statue with in Seoul, South Korea was also spotted, and it showed Jett's weapon being wrapped by the thorny vine. Could the new Agent be able to steal an enemy's weapon?
On August 19, Riot shared a new teaser on the official VALORANT X account, featuring a South Korean news cast reporting about an event in Myeong-dong, Seoul, teasing an "extremely dangerous" threat. This suggests that the new Agent will have some monstrous or horror-themed abilities.
August 20 Update:
Riot released another teaser featuring a South Korean location with neon lights, rainy weather, the same thorny roots on the ground, and a female voice line that says, "A little bird wandered too far from its nest."
August 21 Update:
Riot released the third teaser this week, and it gives us our first look at Agent 26's feminine hands. It also hints her abilities, which depict metallic rose and liquid metal. The metallic vines are grabbing a rifle, suggesting that she will have the ability to either disarm or steal the weapon of an enemy. We also see her conjure an hourglass, which could be another clue for one of her abilities.
August 22 Update:
Riot released the final teaser for Agent 26, and it features a glimpse of a cinematic footage featuring Jett on her knees, clearly disarmed. It seems that the mysterious new Agent has disarmed her as a rifle is seen on the ground, and we can see her in her purple boots, kick the weapon away.
Leaker ValorantUpdated on X also reported that the new Agent's ultimate ability "will allow her to temporarily disable enemy Agents from using their weapons", and that it will cost 8 ability points. However, this has not been officially confirmed by Riot Games.
August 22 Update #2
It appears that Vyse's full appearance has been leaked online ahead, as ValorantUpdated on X shared:
Vyse's promotional music has also reportedly been leaked, and based on the electronic sounds and the aesthetics shown so far, it looks like the character's design is cyberpunk-themed with a dark twist.
VALORANT Agent 26 Character Details
It was confirmed that the next VALORANT Agent will be a female. (Confirmed by Jett's recent voice line added with Patch 9.03).One leaker claims that Agent 26 will be an Initiator, but Riot hasn't officially confirmed this. Based on the clues revealed in the teasers so far, some speculate that the Agent could be a Sentinel, thinking that the rosy and thorny elements could be traps that the new Agent could deploy.
Towards the end of the Episode 9 trailer (around 1:29 mark of the video), spiky roots emerging from the ground can be seen, hinting that Agent 26 might have the ability to trap enemies.
August 20 Update 1: According to multiple leakers, the name of Agent 26 is Vyse, and that her role is a Sentinel. A new teaser art also hinted the new Agent's abilities.
According to a reputable VALORANT leaker Mike (ValorLeaks on X), Agent 26 is codenamed "SilverThumb". Though it's unclear what this could mean.
