The Uma Musume: Pretty Derby multimedia franchise continues to expand with a new TV anime next year. Announced today, the upcoming TV anime project will adapt Uma Musume: Cinederella Gray, which is based on the manga series written by Masafumi Sugiura and illustrated by Taiyou Kuzumi that centers on the protagonist Oguri Cap. The official account of the project has revealed a new teaser trailer and visual while confirming its 2025 premiere.

Tomoyo Takayanagi will voice Oguri Cap in the upcoming anime, which will be directed by Yūki Itō (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid) at Cygames. Aki Kindaichi is in charge of the series composition; Takuya Miyahara and Keigo Sasaki (The Seven Deadly Sins) are providing the character designs, and Masafumi Sugiura (Uma Musume Pretty Derby) is writing the screenplay. What is Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray about?
Kuzumi's The Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray manga launched in June 2020, and as of June 19, 2024, Shueisha published 15 volumes of the manga. The anime franchise consists of three previous TV anime seasons, the Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Road to the Top net anime, and the Umayon spinoff TV anime. Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Shinjidai no Tobira (Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era), the new anime feature film in the franchise, was released on May 24 in Japan.
The Uma Musume Pretty Derby game launched for iOS and Android on February 24, 2021 and for PC on March 10, 2021. The game was originally set for a Winter 2018 release, but was delayed in order to improve the game's quality.
