Robinson Haruhara and Hirakei’s manga, 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess, will soon make its way to the small screens. Pine Jam will adapt the series into an anime, and its first official trailer has now been released. The preview shows how Princess Hime gets tortured by her captor, Torture Tortura, with food, knowing she’s a big foodie.
The trailer begins with Princess Hime inside her prison cell and yelling at her captors, Tortura and Demon King Maou. Knowing she loves food, Tortura knows how to perfectly punish their captive without even hurting her. But despite salivating, the princess has no plans to give up, swearing she will remain silent while the holy sword, Ex, is by her side.
Demon King and Tortura then share a word. The latter promises to torture the princess daily, and she starts with her favorite, ramen, which makes Princess Hime crazy.
Alternatively, the anime’s official website dropped the key visual for 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess. Of course, Princess Hime is at the center of it all while surrounded by Tortura, Ex, Demon King, and other characters like Giant, Gilga, Inki, Mao-Mao Youki, and Vanilla. There’s also a lot of delicious food in front of Princess Hime that makes her drool.

So far, there are only four announced cast members for 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess. Haruka Shiraishi will lead the anime as Princess Hime, Chikahiro Kobayashi will play Ex, Shizuka Ito as Tortura, and Tetsuaki Genda as Demon King.
What is 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess about?
'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess follows the story of Princess Hime, who also serves as the Knight Commander of the Third Knights of the King’s Army, amid the king and the Demon King’s war. The latter has made her a captive, and while in prison, a series of agonizing awaits.
The tortures vary from the smell of a fluffy, freshly baked bread to a steaming hot bowl of ramen at night. She’s also teased to play with adorable animals, though there’s no way for her to do it herself or taste these foods. So, can she keep protecting the kingdom’s secrets despite these punishments?

In an ongoing battle between the Imperial Army and the Hellhorde, the princess from the army has been captured along with her holy sword, Ex. Since regular torture is prohibited by the prisoner of war treaty between the two parties, the grand inquisitor, Torture Tortura, employs unusual "torture" (in air quotes) techniques, usually in the form of tempting foods and snacks from Japanese culture. The princess relents but gives information that is usually trivial in nature, and the few times she does give useful information, the Hell-Lord does not take advantage of it.
'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess is scheduled for release in January 2024. Sure, there may be a lot of anime releasing as of late, but there’s no story like this before. That said, this should be on the list of the anime lovers’ must-see titles.
